What can I say but ooooooh.(see also here
Just had an amazing lecture given by Ajit; such an intelligent guy. The thing I like the best is that the realisation that quantum mechanic principles could be used in computing came from some guy turning a diagram 90 degrees and it reminding him of a probabilistic computational tree structure.
As Ajit said: it’s not intelligence that gives rise to breakthroughs, more people who look at the world from a different angle.
There’s hope for me and some of my crazier friends yet then 🙂
Also, for those who don’t think they’re interested in physics: There is now, finally, an empirical question, which if answered will prove the existence of parallel dimensions.
“Do not take the lecture too seriously . . . just relax and enjoy it. I am going to tell you what nature behaves like. If you will simply admit that maybe she does behave like this, you will find her a delightful, entrancing thing. Do not keep saying to yourself “But how can it be like that?” because you will get…into a blind alley from which nobody has yet escaped. Nobody knows how it can be like that.” – Richard Feynman
